The Look
Emery is 20 months today and with that age comes plenty of desire for independence (however all the while, still being very attached). We are trying our best to set boundries and teach him but it's hard to always be patient. I think he has been picking up my nonverbal cues like...the look. His hair is getting long again, so I tried using some product to see if I could do anything with it. All I got was a mohaw and some funny faces.Oh, and the other day he picked out his outfit to wear...his sunday sweater-that's it, no pants.

Keeping it Real Tag
The rules are you have to take ten pictures of the following things. And you have to do it right away. No straightening, cleaning or wiping your child's nose. Then you tag five others.
#1 The fridge: Basically it needs to be cleaned out! It's on "the list".
#2 Your closet: This is my half. It's pretty cramped in there! With a pile of shoes to accent the beauty.
#3 The sink: With my devoted husband doing dishes first thing in the morning while I blog! I'm blessed.
#4 Favorite shoes: I bought these for the wedding and while they make my feet feel like they will fall off, they are so pretty! As shown here by Em.
#5 Favorite Room: Well, Emery is now able to get out of his crib (since coming back from Dallas; ug) so we took the crib mattress out and are in the process of getting him used to his new bed. Notice some blankets next to it for ME to lay by him in an effort to keep him laying in it, instead of getting up and going to play. Long story short, Emery's room is my fave, because he naps and sleeps there, which gives me a break every now and again. [And in connection with that, I love my bedroom because thats where I nap!]
#6 Laundry Pile: Definety laundry day.

#7 Self Portrait: I really debated this but here it is, me first thing in the morning. No makeup and hair very uncontrolled! Just love me!
#8 The toilet: Its needing a clean to. Good thing "Saturday is a special day..."!
#9 Dream Vacation: Right now my sister-in-law and her kids are in France and its making me really want to go! Plus with Michelin being a French company there is an actual chance I might get to go sometime in the near future! So Paris would be my dream vacation right now.
#10 What my child is doing right now: Watching Elmo! On the little DVD player we got for the Dallas trip.
I now tag Jenny L., Mary R., Emily H., Laura P., & Jan M. Have fun! :)

Atlanta Zoo
On Wednesday, Emery and I went to the Atlanta Zoo. We had a BLAST! Emery may not be 100% interested in the animals but he loves to be around his friends and they have a couple play areas too. We went with my friends Emily and Jan (and thier kids too). It was a sunny morning but the temp was only in the 60's. Ahh!
Emery really liked climbing on the little fences
Content to sit and climb on the benches
What time Emery spent in his stroller looked like this; looking to see if his friends were still coming behind us.
This baby panda came right up to the glass where Emery was and did a little roll before walking off again.

The kids at the zoo playground.
Before we left I paid $2 for a little train ride. I think Emery really liked it! And I didn't feel the least bit bad for paying for a 3 minute ride since we got into the zoo for free! (Thanks Jan!)
Waiting for the train to start
I love my little Em!

Dallas & a Wedding
We went to Dallas, TX for Joel's brother Sam's wedding. We were gone the 11th-16th. We had such a wonderful time and I've got lots of pictures to share!
Just lounging by the pool with aunt Annemarie
At the airport, Emery decided to call all his friends to tell them goodbye (just kidding!)

Emery LOVED swimming the hotel pool. It was half inside and half outside. And with the highs in the 90's and 100's, the pool water was as warm as a bath. Even I took a dip (not pictured).

Glenn Beck
So today, for the second week in a a row, we had a famous visitor to the Atlanta ward. Do you recognize him? If you watch CNN Headline News in the evenings you might have caught his show. It's mostly about politics and his take on them. I've watched it every now and again and it's pretty entertaining. He's got a big personality and lots of strong opinions! But today he was just a visitor (he is a member) from NY. He did make a few comments in sunday school, but they were moderate and he wasn't trying to show off, which was nice. I was going to try and shake his hand, since I didn't get to shake Gladys' hand but alas he left a few minutes before class ended. Oh well, I'll just have to wait for the next famous visitor...
*Oh, on another note, we also had a special visitor in Relief Society. A COCKROACH! Ick. Needless to say there was a lot of gasps and screams while a few ladies tried to catch it and it flew about. No injuries were reported. Even the bug survived due to one woman's plea for humane treatment.*

My Man
Joel was raised on a ranch in Ruby Valley, NV. Therefore he has some awesome SKILLS! There is so much to do on a ranch it is unbelievable! The machinery they use is huge and the work is backbreaking. But he loves it. And I've come to love to visit there too (not to work obviously, I'm such a wimp! -His sister though, is AMAZING, and can get right in there with it all. I admire her a ton!) So here is a little shout out to my hubby and to Ruby Valley. We can't wait for our visit in July!
Hey! Lots and lots of hay.
Haying season is busy busy! Look at the size of those hay bales!
Beautiful view!

Fun times for the kids
