Has anyone gone to a Deseret Book "Time out for Women"? There is going to be one in Atlanta on November 2 & 3. I wanted to know if anyone knows if it is any good/worth the money. Here is the link: DeseretBook.com/tofw
Julie it is great! A few girlfriends and I went last year in Nashville and we had a blast. I think it is worth the money. You need to come with us this year. You get a discount if you get a group of 5 or more.
I've never done one of these, but I looked at the site and Camille Fronk is amazing. I had her New Testament class at BYU, so her class would be worth visiting.
I got the flyer in the mail, and meant to bring it to playgroup last week at Jan's. I really want to go especially since its right here in Atlanta. My only concern is breastfeeding--Dallin doesn't take a bottle, and all day would be a long time away from him. Maye I can work something out because I really want to go...
This is why I am philosophically opposed to these things (including education week at BYU)... we are encouraged to have (lots of) babies, and then babies aren't welcome. The lovely quote about 'we love our breastfeeding moms' just puts me out. I've been to lots of professional (lactation) conferences where lap babies were welcome and the world does not end... it's not like there will be a bunch of stuffed shirts there who will be offended by a breastfeeding baby, right?
Also, DB in general has bugged me lately; some people act like it's God's personal bookstore and everything they sell is Scripture. It's just a business! To make money!
Okay, can you tell I'm on a bender or what :-) Bet you're sorry you ever let me see your blog address...
That said, Laura, maybe Craig could bring Dallin to you to nurse?
