Painting the kitchen

Let's just say I never really liked this color choice for my kitchen!
But, we finally got around to painting it :)

I know tan is so boring, right? But I couldn't decide on another color, and it goes well with the brown in the living room. Plus I will be able to add a pop of color with decorations :)

Our next project?

This sweetness! Can't you just imagine it on that empty wall?
I just love it! And Pottery Barn, I love the idea, but $1,600 -really? I think not.
I think I'll just build it myself with some help from my new favorite blog Knock Off Wood (and maybe my hubby too).
It's a pretty big project though, so we'll see. I've got a huge long list of house projects I want to get done before the baby comes and right now the nursery is pretty close to the top! I guess it's that nesting thing taking over! Better get to work!

it's so funny that you mentioned knock off wood, because as I was reading this, I was totally thinking, she should just build it herself from knock off wood! Glad you already know about it! i love it!

Can you seriously build stuff? Good grief, Julie, you're waayyyy ahead of the game there, sister!

I think I might be the only Neff who didn't take woodworking in high school. Instead I took um...ok, so I can't remember what I took instead, but woodworking would have been a lot more helpful.

Please build something for me while you're at it.

Yeah, I like the tan MUCH better. I'm more for the neutrals with a little color, too.
Good luck with that building project. Sounds complicated, but I bet you'll do a good job.

I think your paint job looks amazing!! You my little Julie are crazy crafty, I would NEVER atempt to build that. But if anyone can, you can. Good luck.

When Xan and I get around to buying a house in the next 5+ years, we're going to hire you to come and style it. :)

Love the color & the cutting plans. Scott has built a bunch of furniture - we have learned to have the main cuts made at Home Depot or Lowe's & pay the extra 50 cents a cut. SO much easier!!!
