First taste of Summer

Emery took his first swimming lessons this year. He was very excited and did wonderful. He made some real improvement in the 8 lessons. He can't wait to practice more this summer at the pool and take more lessons next year!

Emery also went to a week long Vacation Bible School at the church he used to attend preschool at. I forgot to take a picture :( but he had 5 fun filled days of 8:30-12:00 activities. They learned songs, memorized bible verses, saw skits and puppet shows, played games, went on scavenger hunts, and made crafts. And it was free :)

We've been enjoying summer fruits and salads and vegetables!
Lucy was kind enough to finish off this salad for me

We spent one morning at our friends house decorating and launching rockets!
This annual activity is always a favorite with the kids!

Emery got his onto the roof! And Lucy's went into the trees! Awesome!!

Lucy had her 2 year old check-up at the doctor. She was surprisingly calm and cooperative. She did shed a few tears when she got her shots but a quick flip of a switch by the nurse and she was mesmerized by bubbles!  I just love this pediatrician!

Miss Lucy is into all things girlie. After showing lots of interest in mommy's makeup, I decided to make her some pretend makeup of her own.

I used old blush, powder, and eyeshadow containers, cleaned them out and filled them with nail polish. After letting it dry for 2-3 days, it was ready! Throw in a mini brush set and pretend lipstick and nail polish from the dollar store and there you have a little makeup kit!

Emery was a very willing participant in playing makeup. (Even if it doesn't look like it in the picture)

I think the kids have played more with this in the last 2 days than ANY other toy they've ever had. It's a hit for sure!

Daddy's been hard at work on the weekends working on our new playroom! We cleaned out the old office/guest room/sewing room/whatever room and are making it a play room! This wall will have lots of nice built-in storage! The top will have cabinets that lock and the bottom will have lots of shelves!
More to come on the other side of the room...
It's going to be fun!
