Time to remember TUESDAY

Two weeks before Emery's 1st birthday
This is when I first realized that Emery is such an outside boy! He loves it!He really loved this little car. Even though it was pretty busted up and barely rolled!
Just digging in the rocks.

He still rides and loves this ride on Diego toy that I got for only 10 bucks at Toys R Us. It has buttons and music and I guess every kid likes that!

Look at that hair! So long and wispy. It seemed normal to me then, but it looks so weird to me now that his hair is thicker!

Playdate and feeding geese

I hosted playdate last Friday so Emery's friends Henry and Sam came to play. They had so much fun together and loved to be silly!

I may have...

So, I may have decided to join a gym with hubby. We are both exercise deprived and feeling the effects of it. I've never been terribly motivated to exercise in the past, so we'll see how it goes!

And I may just have to buy....an ipod. I've never had the need for one in the past. I was either listening to the radio in my car or at home. Then I had Emery and he picks the music now :) But if I'm going to be motivated to work out, I'm thinking I'm going to need some music!

Do you have an ipod? Which one? What do you love/hate? I'm not sure which one to get! HELP!
And what are some must have songs to put on it?

Thanks in advance for the feedback :D

Biscuit and Basketball

Emery met Biscuit at Barnes and Noble's storytime on Friday!

And on Saturday, Emery went to Lowe's with Dad to make a tabletop basketball hoop.

Emery wasn't in the mood to have a picture, but this forced smile will have to do :D

Pockets

Yesterday I let Emery have a few jelly beans. I told him not to hold them or they'd get his fingers sticky; and gave him a little cup to hold them in. But apparently he had other plans.
The next thing I knew it looked like he was shoving them in his pockets. Wouldn't be my first choice (linty beans) but I didn't bother getting after him about it.
A few minutes later I hear Joel laughing. Turns out Emery had put the beans in his FLY. Joel happened upon Emery trying to dig them back out!

I love Swagbucks!!

First of all, go see what I won on Swagbucks HERE!!
Awesome huh?!
I've gotten some questions about Swagbucks, so I thought I'd do a quick breakdown of some things I've learned from using Swagbucks. You can find all this information (and more) on the main website-this is just the Julie version!
1. Download the toolbar! That way you won't forget to use swagbucks when you do searches.
2. Don't oversearch. Doing 50 searches in a row won't help you win. You are rewarded for "natural" searching. So, just use it when you need to! Sometimes you win, and somtimes you don't. But, over time those little points add up!
3. Follow Swagbucks on Twitter. Every once in a while The Swag Guy posts codes that give you free points!
3. Follow on facebook. Codes are also posted here sometimes!
4. Check the blog. Again, codes appear here from time to time!
5. Invite friends to join. If a friend joins using your link, you win when they win from searching! *Thanks to all those who already joined and have been searching! It shows me how many swagbucks you have won and I get that many too *
[You can find links to the swagbucks blog and facebook page on the swagbucks website also]

Cars and Kites

Home Depot has a Kids Workshop on Saturdays that we just found out about. This week they made racetracks. It was really cute and Emery loved it!
They give the kids a cute apron to wear (and keep) and a little pin with the craft they completed on it. And it's all free! :DEmery hammering

The finished product!

It was a beautiful day today! A little windy, but that made for some good kite flying!

In the air! Hooray!Emery helping Mommy
The only video clips I got were of it crashing into the ground. Oh well. Once we let the string out longer, it did a lot better!

Need a good laugh?

I got my Swap Box!!!

If you all remember I joined a favorite things swap! I sent out my package to April from April Showers on Monday and got mine from her today!
I won't lie. I've been early checking the mail all day hoping I'd be getting my package!! And hooray, it is here!!
Here it is before I opened it. Ooo the suspense...

Ta da! Oh my I'm a lucky girl! I got so much sweet stuff! April included a cute list telling me all about her favorite things. I sort of did the same thing in mine but it was the short version compared to her nicely typed up letter :) Here's what I got: a SOHO bag (love it!) with Hawaiian Ginger lotion, apricot scrub, softlips vanilla (great minds think alike! I sent her some too), hand sanitizer, a face mask, and Orbit gum; 2 pairs of sassy socks, an amazing necklace (love love), scrapbooking goodies (you read my mind about the scissors. I've been wanting some) including some super cute embellishments, a little notebook, and a body pouf! I made out like a bandit! Thanks April, you are the best!
It was so much fun putting together a package of my favorite things, and exciting to get a package in the mail. But even better than that, I made a new friend! Thanks for the plug April!

Ok

Even if you feel like your kids don't listen to you (and well sometimes they don't... but they are little sponges) there may be a day when they surprise you.

Emery is really starting to talk more now and always surprises me with new things he's figured out how to say. Today he was being very indecisive about what snack he wanted. After listing everything we have, I said, "Do you want a snack or not?" (getting a little frustrated!). He didn't even hesitate and said, "Not".
Um ok. Fair enough.
It's not a hard word to say but it caught me off guard for sure!

You know the saying...

You know the saying, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade"? Well when life gives you snow....
make snow ice cream!
Courtesy of Paula Deen:

8 cups snow (or shaved ice)
1 can (14oz.) Sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Mix well and serve immediately.
*Note* Let's be smart people. Use FRESH and CLEAN snow. No yellow, brown, 3 day old, or speckled snow!

ouch

I love my handsome boy. I took this only a few hours before the craziness started that ended with this...

Ouch! Emery loves jumping on his bed. But it's only fun until someone gets hurt :(
