Nap or Not so much?

Oh my; what a time I've been having trying to get Emery to nap the past few days! He really still needs one {or he becomes a terror the remainder of the day and has even more trouble getting to be that night}. He 's been out of his crib for 8 months or so unfortunately so it's hard to make him stay in his bed! Anyone have this same trouble and any ideas for me? Please. Help. Me. Thanks...

Yes, yes and yes. Isabelle went through a few spouts like that. Noah has done it once. Just keep the routine if you can. She got so tired that the next week she made up for it and slept 3 hours at a time for days in a row. She will be 4 in June and still takes a two hour afternoon nap. I found it also very helpful when they were doing it to run them in the morning. Mom and kid relay races :)

I agree with Emily, just try to stick to the schedule. SM rarely takes naps now, but he knows after lunch is quiet time, and he can choose to sleep or not. then you still get your break time. And usually they end up falling asleep. But not always, so good luck!

2 of my kids did this. I resorted to rocking them on the days they really needed the naps. The other days, it'd just be a 'quiet time' in their room so I could recharge!

From my experience I have learned that kids go in phases. They will be really good for a while at their routine and then every once in a while they are just off. Just stick to the schedule and they will get back into the swing of it. I would try to keep him taking naps for as long as you can. I wish I would have been more persistent with Ethan so that he still took naps.
